The National Mentoring Partnership and Save the Children have developed a database of mentoring programs throughout the country that have agreed to comply with recognized elements of effective practice.
The National Mentoring Partnership database includes two types of organizations/programs that meet the following criteria:
Mentoring programs are organizations and programs that:
| Support ongoing, intense adult-youth mentoring relationships, between 6 months and 1 year in duration.
meet the industry standards for responsible mentoring set out in Mentoring: Elements of Effective Practice. |
Caring adult programs are youth-serving organizations and programs that:
| Use caring adult volunteers in roles such as teachers, tutors, or group leaders.
Meet industry standards for their field. |
