Drugs in the Workplace
February 22, 2001 (Thursday)
Time: 1:00 to 3:00 PM EST
Employers are constantly dealing with their employees and issues that arise in the workplace. Such issues include substance abuse, alcohol abuse and
addiction, which can negatively affect job performance and lead to
devastating consequences. So what happens when these two worlds collide and
an employer is faced with a substance-abusing employee? How can an employer
set up an employee assistance program? Should drug testing be implemented?
How do the state and federal governments address these issues and enforce
workplace policies? And how can these entities better communicate and
collaborate to effectively deal with this crisis? This broadcast will
provide the viewers with effective workplace strategies to create and
maintain a drug-free workplace.
